What should I expect from my son while in inpatient recovery

Hi ! I am extremely new to all of this. Just found out about my son using pain killer med's. He tried to detox himself and went right back. I immediately reached out Dating for help and ended up sending him out of state to a recovery center. I thought it was best to get him into a different environment. It has been one week and very hard for both him and myself. What behavior should I expect from him when we speak on the phone etc.... Can someone please shed some light on what he is going thru and if what I am hearing from him is normal for the situation. He is mad, does not want to be there, sais he is in prison, will not last 30 days, and most importantly he does not feel like he belongs where he is. Denial to what he has been doing to himself, I guess. Thank you so much.
