Online meetings are held every day at 3:00pm and 8:00pm EST. There is also a "candlelight meeting" every Saturday night at 11:59PM EST.

You can also type !nextmeeting into the chat to see how many hours until our next meeting.

All Links open in new windows so as to not interrupt chat.

NACHATROOM.ORG - Safety and Anonymity Guidelines.

To protect newcomers and minors from predatory or exploitative behavior and to ensure that our website is not being misused to facilitate criminal activity (including but not limited to being offered or asked for drugs), Private Messaging is disabled for anonymous guests.

Please do not circumvent this by providing your email address/phone number/messenger handle/social media link or any other form of communicating off the site.

NACHATROOM.ORG is safest and most effective when all communications are out in the open for members with some clean time/recovery to weigh in on.

Am I Welcome here?

Our 3rd Tradition states that "the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using."

Our group is open to drug addicts or anyone who thinks they might have a drug problem. Please respect our room's NA and recovery focus or leave.

In accordance with Tradition Three, bans are only in effect as long as necessary to mitigate disruption/trolling. Our ban policy takes Tradition One into account, which states "Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends on NA unity." Our first obligation is to protect the GROUP, followed by the INDIVIDUAL.

We don't have any guidelines about participating in chat while under the influence so long as members who participate while intoxicated are not abusive or disruptive.

Our group pays dues/rent to the Never Alone Alano Club, which operates as an outside facility that hosts groups and meetings such as ours.

Staff from the NAAC have a zero tolerance policy for violent threats, illegal activity, and people who attack/DDOS their infrastructure. You can expect to be banned from their "premises."

"All are welcome, but not all behaviors."

Not all in attendance are in recovery or working the Narcotics Anonymous program. Many of our chatters are in the pre-contemplation stage where they are THINKING about getting help. We are in all stages of recovery here. We expect people to be courteous and compassionate towards one another, and especially to the sick and suffering addict who has not found a solution.

Moderators are unpaid volunteers who are here to socialize, support each other, and try to enjoy the place too. Please use !report if there is a serious disruption and it is not being addressed. Moderators have a color symbol next to their names, it is their job to refocus the discussion if it is getting out of hand.

Arguing, fighting, and abusive conduct are not conducive to the desired environment here. In most cases, a ban will last 12 hours and you'll be asked to come back and try again tomorrow.

  • If you have a medical or mental health EMERGENCY, you will be asked to leave and contact Emergency Services (i.e. "911") or go to the nearest emergency room. If you have a true medical emergency, you need a doctor not a chatroom. We do not have enough information to seek assistance on your behalf. You may remain in chat only if you agree to seek appropriate medical attention and/or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.

  • Outside links must be recovery related and not personal in nature ("self promotion") -- We want everyone to get the right help. If a member can't find a nearby NA meeting or has an outside issue other than drug addiction, you may link to other 12-step fellowships.

  • Participation is only open to addicts or people who think they have a drug problem. We do not want to complete surveys or read your book or your blog. Promotion of for-profit treatment centers/sober living / etc is not allowed from headhunters or staff of those facilities.

  • NACHATROOM.ORG does not cooperate with courts, clinics, or supervision officials. Any cards purporting to verify online meeting attendance at NACHATROOM.ORG are not authentic.

  • We do not police individual members sex conduct but if a pattern of unwanted sexual advances is brought to our attention this may be considered predatory behavior and result in a ban. We only deal in screen shots and facts, not allegations gossip and rumors.

  • No abusive behavior. This includes threats, personal insults, hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobic remarks, encouraging suicide, promoting drinking or using over recovery, and other matters inappropriate for a recovery forum.

  • We are not Narcotics Anonymous. We are a group of Narcotics Anonymous. This is a chatroom where we try to carry the NA message to the newcomer seeking information about NA. We are here to welcome and encourage the newcomer, but also to socialize and support each other. The room is open 24/7 and the topic may or may not be recovery related when there is NOT a meeting in progress.
